Luca Gilli lives and works in Cavriago (RE), Italy. His photographs are part of private collections and art and photography museums both in Italy and in Europe (Bibliotèque Nationale de France in Paris, Musée de la Photographie in Charleroi, Kunstbibliotek in Berlin, Musée d'Art Moderne et Contemporain in Strasburg, Musèee Réattu in Arles, École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Thessaloniki Museum of Photography etc.) In 2004 he was invited to the show “L'Ecole Photographique de Reggio Emilia” organized by Gens d'Images at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris....

His photographs are part of private collections and art and photography museums both in Italy and in Europe (Bibliotèque Nationale de France in Paris, Musée de la Photographie in Charleroi, Kunstbibliotek in Berlin, Musée d'Art Moderne et Contemporain in Strasburg, Musèee Réattu in Arles, École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Thessaloniki Museum of Photography etc.) In 2004 he was invited to the show “L'Ecole Photographique de Reggio Emilia” organized by Gens d'Images at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris. In 2005 the ECUME association (Echangs Culturels en Mediterranée) in Marseilles invited him to participate in the Atelier de Crèation Photographique sur la Ville at the Festival Méditerranéen d'Alexandrie: photo, musique, cinéma. The Atelier works were exhibited at the Musée Mahmoud Saïd in Alexandria in Egypt. In the same year the Italian Culture Institute in Cairo dedicated him an important one-man exhibition. Afterwards, his projects have been exhibited in various collective and one-man exhibitions in Italy and abroad both in public institutions and private galleries. In 2011 he participated in the official institution of European Photography in Reggio Emilia with the project “Daily Menu” and in the Milan Image Art Fair, with a project called “Panthalassa” proposed by the Gallery Vrais Rêves in Lyon (where he had already showed the same work the year before) and he exhibited in Arles during the Rencontres de la Photographie with two different one-man exhibitions. In 2012 his project called “Blank” was exhibited at the Confluence Gallery in Nantes, at the Claude Samuel Gallery in Paris, at the Maison de la Photographie in Lille, at the Milan Image Art Fair and at the Paris Art Fair. In 2013 his one-man exhibitions were shown at the Lille Art Fair, at the I0Due! International Research Contemporary Art Gallery in Milan, at the Montechiarugolo (PR) town hall and at the Weber & Weber Contemporary Art Gallery in Turin (2013-2014). In the same year the artist participated in the “Nuage” exhibition at the Arles Musée Reattu. In 2014 his works were shown at the Confluence Gallery in Nantes (Samsãra), at the “ReimmaginaRe Fotografia – Percorsi fotografici tra Umbria e Toscana” festival, at the Milan Image Art Fair (Weber & Weber Contemporary Art Gallery in Turin), where he won the important BNL Gruppo BNP Paribas prize, and in Arles during the Rencontres de la Photographie. In the same year his one-man exhibitions were on show at the Museum of Photography in Seoul, at the Galerie Domus de l'Universitè Claude Bernard Lyon I, at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Sciences de l'Information et des Bibliotéques in Lyon and at ArtVerona (VV8 Contemporary Art Gallery in Reggio Emilia) where one of his works has been acquired by the Fondazione Domus for Modern and Contemporary Art. His photographic projects have been written about by photographers, scientists, editors, Art and Photography historians such as Vasco Ascolini, Quentin Bajac, Xavier Canonne, Daniele De Luigi, Gigliola Foschi, Angelo Gioè, Ascanio Kurkumelis, James Lisoni, Massimo Mussini, Vittorio Parisi, Robert Pujade, Michel Quétin, Georges Vercheval. He has published several one-man photo collections and has participated in several collective catalogues.
