Ermini Alex

"Born on January 15th, 1974, in Bologna, Italy, Alex Ermini moved to Padova when he was very young. A graduate in graphics and design, Alex attended a painting course at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice.

Eclectic artist, he has been painting canvas, making sculptures and artistic installations since he was a teenager. In 1995 he took part in the art project Iridescenze Musicali, exhibiting for the first time at Borghese Palace in Florence. Many other personal and collective exhibitions followed this one.

Following his great interest for Writing also known as Aerosol Art or Graffiti, Alex joined the group of Artists EAD in 1994. He signs his first works as ASH, afterwards changed to AXE.

Alex Ermini has taken part in many painting contexts worldwide such as Meeting of Styles in Germany and in Italy, StyleMonsters, 10 4CT, Transitions, Tag the World, MOMART, El Signo dea Callein Venice,Sound Park,Nu Fest in Rome, Bologna and Naples, Strade del Paesaggio (a context against Mafia in Cosenza, Italy), Overline in Salerno, Hip-Hop encuentra Jazz (Live painting) in Mexico, as well as contexts in Brazil, Spain and more.

In 2003 the artist was invited to take part in the TV broadcast Così Fan Tutti as a street art representative. Alex has been teaching aerosol art in high schools and cultural centres since 2004.

In 2008, together with other artists, he founded Ologram, an art association promoting the development of local art and cultural expressions.

In 2012 participates in the foundation of the Association Jeos. Non-profit foundation born in Vicenza by the will of Antonio Ceccagno in memory of Giacomo Ceccagno in art Jeos.

Alex uses a 3D lettering style in which letters are figuratively created by ribbons which, as if they were ink lines drawn by a nib, detach from the background squirming in a harmonious dance. The artist is especially skilled in figurative painting, a genre in which he prefers human anatomies, in particular female ones, also playing with dreamlike colours over a background which emerges eating parts of the figures."
