The two artists working together since 2000 and currently live between Prague and New York. Their work is based mainly, but not only about painting : according to the dictates of the new hyper-realistic style , which stressed today the intense relationship between painting, photography and new media, the Gilman depict the everyday life as a still image . Portraits , educated people gestural immediacy but also real and virtual spaces that work almost like environments and scenarios of their characters. The painting of Gilman , therefore, is based on a broad conceptual brought to be defined as a hybrid field of tensions that come gradually to involve other means. Speaking of their work together , the two artists say : " we have reached the final form of our work through collaboration. This dichotomy of subjectivity and objectivity , near and far, is reflected in other aspects of the work : voltage, dualism , distance we hear from the real - that is kind or another , society , images or rental terms . "
